Group awareness evaluation in e-maintenance Groupware system

the collaboration between actors is fundamentally in reality. In the industrial world, notably maintenance context many experts from diverse disciplines can be called to work all together on same breakdowns. The distance, experts’ availability, displacement difficulty, etc. constitutes serious problems which impede the success of collaborative work in companies. So, the collaborative virtual environments are extremely important and constitute a crucial amelioration, notably for industrial emaintenance systems. These environments implement often shared workspaces allowing several participants to coordinate their activity about a same problem. Furthermore, supporting awareness of groups is essential for the success of this kind of environments. We discuss in this paper the principal of our assessment approach to identify the highly effective group awareness tools embedded in our e-maintenance virtual collaborative environment. The results that are based on experimental study identify the six most important tools. Keywords-component; e-maintenance collaborative; Groupware assessment; group awareness.
